REAL MADRID TO DISCUSS WITH ARSENAL OVER MORATA

Premier League outfit, Arsenal FC will discuss with Spanish giant, Real Madrid over their interest in acquiring last season sensation at Juventus, Alvaro Morata.

The summer transfer target for The Gunners would prefer to know where he will be playing next season before heading to the European Championships with Spain, and agent Juanma Lopez will be among those in Madrid next week to find out if the Bernabeu club see a future for the 23-year-old.

Real Madrid have verbally communicated their intention to exercise their €30million (£24m) buyback clause on Morata, after selling him to the Italian giants two years ago, and are expected to lodge the official bid after discussions with the player’s representatives. However, while they are expected to immediately sell him for a significant profit, there remains a small chance that coach Zinedine Zidane decides to keep the Spanish international in Madrid.

Arsenal, both Manchester clubs and Chelsea are all interested in the striker, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. The Blues only joined the race last week, and are considering signing both Morata and Romelu Lukaku if they can sell Diego Costa back to Atletico Madrid for £20million. The Gunners, who missed out on Morata when he made his move to Turin, remain keen but have not yet made an official bid.

Morata grew through the youth ranks in Real Madrid, after playing in Getafe and Atletico Madrid youth team. Morata was very instrumental to the success of Juventus this season, scoring seven goals in 34 games for the club in the Serie A. In the Coppa Italia, he played five games scoring three crucial goals that helped the club lift the trophy ahead of AC Milan. Arsenal are really keen on landing the player after missing out the last time and are believed to be ready to pay the exit clause of the forward.
